What I Wore Saturday

Good Morning and happy Father’s day to all of the great Fathers out there!

Today I have a little bit of a fashion post. I will be doing these on a semi regular basis when I actually am wearing real clothes and not work clothes, work-out clothes, or pajamas which tends mostly to happen on the week-ends so you can probably expect to see them then.

Saturday afternoon I went to visit my cousins from Washington who were visiting my Aunt and Uncle for Father’s day. I don’t get to see any of them very often so it was really nice to catch up and spend time with them.

The weather in Eugene was actually nice for once, it was a little over 80 degrees and so I was able to wear a dress for one of first times this year!Image

What I Wore:

Black Dress from H&M

Black short sleeved Cardigan from Target

Shoes from JCPenny

I didn’t wear any jewelry I just kept it simple. I ended up ditching the cardigan later when it go too hot.

As you can see I am a bargain shopper when it comes to fashion a love a good deal and not spending a ton a money on cute clothes. So I love stores like H&M, Forever 21, Target, ect.

Moving on to some food, I picked five more strawberries from my garden!

I get so excited every time I see a ripe strawberry!

Later in the night I was in bed reading (the third 50 shades of grey book, the writing is terrible but I just can’t quit it!) and the husband surprised me with froyo!

He’s a keeper! Granted it was midnight and I was about to go to bed, but this girl does not turn down a delicious bowl of frozen yogurt!

Now I am headed to the farmers market with my Mom and Sister! I hope you all have a great Sunday!

Long Run

Good morning! I can not even tell you how happy I am that it is the week-end! I had big plans to sleep in really late this morning but I fell asleep on the couch last night at 9:30 so I ended up going to bed early and woke up at 7. Oh well, it felt good to wake up to no alarm clock!

Sam is still asleep (and probably will be at least until noon) so I had a protein pancake breakfast solo this morning.

  • Half of a banana mashed
  • 1 scoop protein powder
  • Splash of almond milk
  • Cinnamon
  • 1/4 cup of egg whites

I topped it with a tablespoon of peanut butter and some strawberries.

So lets rewind to yesterday, I decided to do my long run, which I usually run on Saturdays but I am headed out of town to visit my family today and thought I would get it out of the way a day early.

Right now I’m not training for any races, I just really enjoy long runs (that sounds ridiculous but I really do) so I do one long run every week usually on Saturdays. I usually run between 7-10 miles on these long runs just depends on how I am feeling on that day.

So I ran nine miles on the treadmill, I know that probably sounds insane to some of you but my allergies have been so bad that I stepped outside to take my dog out before my run and I had an immediate sneeze attack.

I alleviate treadmill boredom by watching my new favorite show, Revenge. I love a TV show with a bad ass leading lady who kicks everyones ass!

After my run I had a snack while reading some trashy magazines.

  • 1 cup Trader Joe’s greek yogurt
  • A whole bunch of strawberries
  • Some chocolate chips

Today I am headed to Cottage Grove to visit family that are hear from Washington. I don’t get to see them often so I’m excited and there is going to be a lot of delicious food! I hope you guys enjoy your Saturday!

PS: I love instagram, so if you wanna be instagram friends my username is Angmbee.

What I Ate Wednesday

This is my first WIAW, I figured it as a good way to show a full day of eats. I don’t plan on posting ALL of my food I eat every day so I thought at least one day a week would be good! Here is everything I ate yesterday!

My alarm went off at 3:15am and I hit snooze a couple times and was finally able to get myself up at 3:30am. I tried to make myself look presentable as quickly as possible and got to eating my breakfast.

I had egg white oats with peanut butter on top.

I think I eat egg white oats different that most. I first microwave 3/4 liquid egg whites in a bowl while my 1/3 oats cooks on the stove top. I top the egg white with the cooked oats and add PB and sometimes some fruit!

I worked 4:30am-1:00pm. I tend to snack on every break at work, my job is pretty physical I am on my feet all day and I never stop moving. I work at the busiest Starbucks south of Portland so it is really non stop all day.

First break I ate a Protein Macaroon and on my “lunch”, which is at 8am so I don’t count this as a real lunch, I had a half of a cup of Trader Joe’s plain non fat greek yogurt with a pink lady apple and cinnamon on top. I also try to drink at least a trenta (32oz) water while I work.

I had a salad on my last break. It had spinach, chicken, red and yellow peppers, carrots, and Newman’s own balsamic dressing.

After work I checked on my strawberries in my garden and I had my first ripe strawberry!

I was a proud strawberry mama and then I ate him and he was delicous!

and then some more snacking happened…

Strawberries, pineapple, grapes, watermelon, and string cheese.

Around 4pm I got my work out in. First I ran 5 miles, nice, steady, mindless cardio was what I needed and this was perfect. After the run I did a Live Fit work-out back and biceps my arms were shaking by the end of this. I went really heavy on the weights and it felt awesome.

After my work out, my husband informed me about the 50% Dominos Pizza deal so this happened..

Dominos gluten free pizza with light cheese, peppers, onion, tomato, olives, chicken, and mushrooms. I ate the whole thing, it was small and so worth it. I have a cheat meal once a week and this was it.

Shortly after consuming a whole pizza it was my bed time (8pm) so I went to bed full and happy!

I hope you all enjoyed my first WIAW!

Questions:

Are you guys snackers or more of a 3 square meals a day kind of person? As you can see I am a snacker! I like snacking so I eat smaller meals so I can snack thru out the day! It works well for me.

Random Rambles

  • Today I did this..

  • About 30 minutes later I did this..

  • This is a Dominos Gluten Free pizza. We live behind a Dominos, literally I can hop my fence and be at Dominos. They left a 50% off coupon on my door while I was working out and my husband insisted we use it!
  • I ate the whole thing…it was small…I was hungry…it was worth it.

  • My strawberries in garden are going crazy and I can’t wait to eat them! I check them everyday to see if any are ripe yet.
  • I am a part-time dog walker, sorta. Sam’s uncle has me walk their dog a couple times a week and they pay $10 a walk, such a deal!

  • When I work out I can not have any hair touching me or I go insane and have to stop my work-out to fix the situation.

  • I have waist length hair and I wrap in up in a bun so tight that is not going move for anything!
  • I hate silence. I need background sounds on at all times. I sleep with a fan on. Right now as I write this post I have youtube video on that I am not even watching.

How do you wear your hair when you work out? Sometimes I see woman running outside with their hair down all flopping around and it makes me cringe!

Taste the Rainbow

I sit here eating my dinner I am about to show you, longing for my bed at 6pm. I am such a grandma.

My allergies have really hit me hard today, my eyes are itchy I can’t stop sneezing and I really just want to go to bed!

Enough whining on to some food!

I was hangry so I needed something quick or I was going to end up eating handfuls of popcorn and trail mix before I could get in a real meal. Stir-fry fit all of my requirements.

  • Chicken breast
  • Mushrooms
  • Red and Yellow Peppers
  • Onion
  • Brussel Sprouts
  • Asparagus
  • Carrots

For the sauce I used some homemade gluten free teriyaki sauce. I have made orange sauce before but never teriyaki and so I just winged it based slightly on the orange sauce.

  • 1/4 cup of gluten free soy sauce
  • 1 clove garlic or garlic powder
  • 1 cup of water
  • 1/4 water set aside
  • 5 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoons honey
  • 2 tablespoons cornstarch

I combined everything but the cornstarch and the 1/4 cup of water in a sauce pan on medium heat. Combine cornstarch and water and add to the sauce. Heat until thickened!

I haven’t gotten to make work out yet today so that is where I am headed now. It probably seems late but I am such a night work outer! I have been know to run 10 miles on the treadmill at midnight!

I’m probably going to do a quick five miles on treadmill while I watch some tv and eat some more of those protein macaroons!

Lazy Sunday

Sunday is my my lazy day. I don’t work-out. I sleep in and don’t get out of my PJs until noon. The husband and I veg out on the couch and watch a million episodes of Community (seriously love this show and I’m pretty sure it was written just for me!). I look forward to Sundays every week, there is nothing better than being lazy with my husband. I think taking one day a week to allow yourself to be lazy so good for not only your physical health but also mental. I have a really physical, busy job that I work at 40 hours and week and after work I work out like many people do and by the end of the week I am exhausted and my lazy sundays are a good way to let my body take a break.

So remember to let yourself take a break every once and awhile, you deserve and so does your body!

Moving on, I woke up at 11am which isn’t typical for me I usually wake up around 8am on the week ends but I stayed up until 3am the night before.

I made myself a typical Ang breakfast.

As unappetizing as this looks it was really delicious! I had a protein pancake with some chocolate chips thrown in, because it was sunday and I can, and topped it with peanut butter.

I didn’t really eat a lunch I ended up snacking the day away. Sam and I visited his grandma for a few hours and I ended up doing some baking. I worked on a granola bar recipe for the blog that will be up some time this week and I also made Eating Bird Food’s protein macaroons.

They were really good, perfect little sweet healthy treat, I will for sure be making these again!

At some point I snack on this giant bowl of fruit. It was full of watermelon, pineapple, strawberries, and grapes.

For dinner Sam requested chili.

The chili I make is super easy and delicious!

  • 1lb of ground turkey
  • 1 can pinto beans
  • 1 can black beans
  • 1 can kidney beans
  • 2 cans of no salt added tomato sauce
  • 1 packet of chili seasoning

I drain and rinse the beans, cook the turkey and throw everything in a pot and let it cook away! Easiest dinner ever!

Solo Dinner

Today was an exhausting day. I just had five glorious days off from work and had to return this morning. I have the job of putting away our giant supply order every Thursday, which includes lifting 30 pound boxes over my head on to shelves at 4:30 in the morning. I got this job by being the fastest person at putting it away, which it takes me about two hours, so I pretty much have a two hour work out at work every Thursday which is fine most of the time.

I took a much needed two hour nap after work today and decided I need to stop being lazy and get a work out in at 5pm.

I had a nice 4 mile run on the treadmill while watching Only Human on Netflix (British version because it is far superior to the American version). It’s still raining in Oregon so outside runs have not been happening lately but I’m ok with that because watching tv while running makes the miles fly.

Today was a leg day on the Live Fit program, I’m still in phase one so it wasn’t anything too crazy.

I worked out for about an hour showered and it was time for dinner. I was on my own for dinner because Sam was working late and when that happens it means I get to eat lots of veggies. Sam is a veggie hater so I usually end up make two versions of dinner one with veggies and one with out.

I kept it simple and light because I had been snacking a ton through out the day (the two hour box throwing in the morning makes me HUNGRY). I had some chicken breast with some random mixed veggies which included asparagus, onion, mushrooms, brussel sprouts, and kale. And of course BBQ sauce for dipping.

Now I am sitting on the couch typing this while I listen to Hanson. Seriously, love them. If you listen to Hanson we should probably be friends!
